A rainmaker is an individual who creates value in their community. In South Sudan and across the continent, a rainmaker is someone who is entrusted by the community to be the safeguard of knowledge and wisdom that guides the community towards the future, through the trials and the triumphs. Every community has a rainmaker - one to preside over ceremonies, to bless the land, seeds and rains, and to make sure everyone has a bounty to share by harvest.

Each of you who came to the Rainmaker Run on October 19 is a rainmaker. You are an individual who is dedicating your time and energy towards creating tangible impact. Rainmaker is everyone who has donated to the campaign online, who volunteered to make the event a great success, and who stands behind Rainmaker’s mission create global impact, starting in South Sudan.

In South Sudan, rainmakers and their communities are being challenged by climate change, extreme drought and extreme hunger. By using solar energy to access clean water for drinking and for sustainable farming, we are unlocking the potential of South Sudan’s people. We are working to remove the barriers for people to become champions of change in their communities - where clean water is a tool for health, for education, for inter-communal peace.

The Rainmaker Enterprise is the sum of its communities. We are a global network of rainmakers - of people seeking to create value in their communities. Where water can be the difference between poverty and prosperity, we are working to build dignity drop by drop.

We may not be able to reach all 7.7 billion people, but every human being matters. If we can change the life of one person, that is a start. From the bottom of our hearts - thank you for showing up and for doing this with us, for being part of the community and movement. Thank you for being a rainmaker.

The Rainmaker Run campaign continues until October 31st, let's keep pushing to reach our goal of $30,000. Donate and share below.
