Today, millions of people live daily with the effects of water insecurity. 2.1 billion people currently live without access to safe water. In South Sudan, lack of access to water is a reality for 50% of the country’s population. More people are losing access to water every year, worsening the effects of armed conflict, hunger, poverty, health challenges and further environmental degradation.

Holistic and sustainable solutions to the roots of the water and food crisis are urgent. At Rainmaker, we believe that water is the divide between poverty and prosperity. We are proud to work alongside many individuals and organizations towards the achievement of a water secure world. In recognition of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development” 2018-2028, the UN states, “Water is critical for sustainable development and the eradication of poverty and hunger, and is indispensable for human development, health and wellbeing.”
